Eleven years ago, it wasn’t easy for businesses to know which ads, keywords, and campaigns made their phones ring. Then came CallRail. Ten years later, we’re helping over 200,000 businesses connect calls to their marketing efforts and ensure they can respond with our evolved Lead Center product. It was a record year for CallRail surpassing $75M ARR and increasing our employee headcount by 55% year-over-year.

Among our new hires: CEO Marc Ginsberg.

“It’s been another remarkable year for CallRail, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team,” said Marc. “For more than a decade, CallRail has been committed to leveling the playing field for businesses of all sizes, delivering tools that give them a fighting edge against competitors and the confidence to invest in marketing. Our growth and continued success demonstrate the value of our platform and our people.”

220 million reasons to celebrate

CallRail’s growth streak continued through 2021: we surpassed $75M in ARR, welcomed 387 agency partners, and routed over 220 million calls.

To support this growth, 162 talented team members joined CallRail over the course of the year. From a new CEO to expanded customer service, from marketing to product development, our latest hires span all departments and functions. This team came together to make CallRail a great place to work (more on that later).

2021 was another record year for CallRail

Notable newbies include Kimberly Lipscomb, VP of Revenue Operations; Kristin Marsicano, Director of Engineering; and Richard McDade, Creative Director. Movers and shakers include Kara Kelly, who was named VP of User Experience, and Rob Wade, who was named Head of Brand Activation — both new roles.

We also acquired PhoneWagon, a New York City-based call tracking software company. The acquisition immediately extended CallRail’s call analytics leadership while offering PhoneWagon customers access to our broader, more comprehensive platform.

Mary Pat Donnellon, CRO, says “In a world that is increasingly difficult to connect with customers, our Lead Center product saw amazing growth by combining all calls, chats and texts into a single customer inbox ensuring no lead is ever left behind. Our platform is poised to help even more businesses and their agencies market with confidence.”

Making great products even better

Everybody’s talking. This year, we experienced 568% growth in customers taking and making calls with Lead Center (our software that centralizes customer conversations from every channel so businesses never miss a lead). We also automatically transcribed more than 20 million calls with Conversation Intelligence — that’s 72 million minutes and 50% more than last year.

“One of our core values is ‘deliver incredible products’” noted Ryan Johnson, SVP of Product Development. “Our hyper-focus on the customer drives our product roadmap. When we build them new products or features, we never compromise. This is a big reason why customers love using our platform.”

This year’s enhancements to our marketing analytics products (Call Tracking, Conversation Intelligence, and Form Tracking) include outbound calling for Hubspot and Salesforce integrations, scheduling for customer reports, and Facebook Pixel integration.

The big news for Lead Center: live chat was added to its unified inbox. We also added multi-location support, internal dialing, external transfers, and the ability to control analytics access for agents.

Importantly, our platform demonstrated gold-standard privacy and security for our customers’ data: we achieved our SOC 2 Type II attestation. Developed by the American Institute of CPAs, the SOC 2 Type II report (completed by third-party auditors, Schellman & Company) verifies that CallRail has met their criteria for data security, availability, and confidentiality.

It was an honor to be nominated (but even better to win)

Growth is one indicator that we’re doing something right. Awards are another. Winning multiple awards — like earning thousands of customers — means we’re onto something big.

2021 wasn’t our first time winning an APPEALIE, but it was our first time winning two! We were honored to receive both Overall SaaS (Marketing) and Customer Success Awards (with a Net Promoter Score of 59!).

Plus G2 continues to recognize CallRail as a leader in multiple categories.

We know we couldn’t (and wouldn’t) have achieved such acclaim without our diverse, dedicated team. Every day they show up, work with intensity, mind the business, and respect everyone. That’s why we continue to be named a best place to work by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Inc. Magazine.

We invest in our people so they’re invested in our customers. When we’re recognized for it, it’s a win-win-win.

What’s next for CallRail?

2021 was a whirlwind, record-breaking year for us. According to Marc, the new year looks equally bright.

“CallRail is heading into 2022 with incredible momentum and a highly capable team. We’re positioned to help even more businesses confidently make the most of their marketing dollars and turn more leads into better customers. In an ever-changing and emerging world, it is critical to ensure that our local economies thrive, and I’m thrilled for CallRail to play a part in making that happen.”
