It’s official–CallRail has business texting capabilities!

Now, you can use your CallRail tracking phone numbers to send and receive SMS messages.

Here are some of the benefits you receive when utilizing the Text feature:

  • Instantaneous Response – You will be able to communicate with anyone who sends a text message to a phone number that is configured in your account to receive text messages. Being able to respond immediately, and at little cost, keeps communication simple and enhances the experience to those who have decided to send a text message over placing a phone call or writing an email.
  • Gaining a Mobile Audience – Given the explosion in the mobile world recently, more consumers are reaching out to companies via their mobile device. What better way to capture this mobile audience than to be available via text message?
  • It’s EasyBusiness texting is easy for both the employee and the consumer. When you enable text messaging in your account, you’ll access any incoming text messages by navigating to the “Text” option on your dashboard. Here, you’ll be able to reply to anyone who has initiated a conversation with you, and view any previous correspondence you (or someone else from your team) had with a consumer. You can also configure your numbers to alert you, and other users on your account, of any incoming texts via email.

To access incoming text messages, navigate to the “Text” option on your dashboard. Here, you’ll be able to write back to anyone who has initiated a conversation with you, and view any previous correspondence you (or someone else from your team) had with a customer.

The left side of your screen (under “Inbox”) will show the different numbers that have texted your tracking number. On the right side of the screen is where you’ll hold your conversation with the person texting the tracking number.

In addition to being able to write back to any text messages your phone numbers receive, you can configure your numbers to alert you, and other users on your account, of any incoming texts via email (just like how the call notification emails work).

Every account includes 100 free texts per month, additional texts are 1.6¢ each. Get started from the “Texts” link in your company dashboard.

  • Is it just me or I don’t see any “Text” option on my Dashboard? (I’m logged as main admin on my White Label account).

    • It’s available when you’re in a single company within your account; you won’t see it on the agency-level dashboard view. Hope this helps, but if not feel free to get in touch directly!

      Yes – you can reply to a tracking phone number using SMS.

    can you send sms via the api?

    • Hi – you can set up alerts through our API that will notify you when you receive a SMS message – but you cannot receive read or send SMS messages through the API at this time.

    Another vote for SMS through the API – it’s very cumbersome to have to come to the CallRail site to reply back to my prospects every time I need to send a text. Is this even a possibility? Also, how’s the progress coming on your iOS app?

    Another Vote for SMS Through API! Other services offer this. I may have to switch services. This should have been available at the onset of the API protocols.
