Information Security Analyst

Location: Atlanta, GA

The Position

The Information Security Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal, relevant industry, regulatory and legal requirements. 

What You'll Do 

  • Ensures the implementation of security controls and standards align with the HIPAA and CCPA
  • Ensures security is embedded in all IT operations through appropriate applications of technologies, policies, and practices
  • Evaluates existing and ongoing cyber security controls for effectiveness and efficiency
  • Evaluates 3rd party services and security postures relating to IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS
  • Evaluates and provides guidance in the implementation of security improvements for our managed cloud-based platforms (AWS)
  • Conducts security evaluations of both in-house and vendor provided applications
  • Conducts routine evaluations of existing programs (internal audits)
  • Conducts security assessments, identifying any security gaps or risks, develops remediation plans
  • Participates in conducting routine security assessments and annual penetration testing
  • Supports and ensures security and data compliance programs
  • Supports the organization's continuous cyber security and data privacy awareness
  • Develops, defines, and provides Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics in support of senior management oversight
  • Supports the IAM program and associated tools


  • Experience in telecommunications regulations
  • Experience in AWS security best practices and implementation
  • Expert knowledge of vulnerability management tools and technologies
  • Proficient knowledge of security best practices (CIS, ISO27k, PCI-DSS, HIPAA)
  • Experience managing vendors / third-party service providers
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills; must be able to work effectively with other team members
  • Excellent team collaboration skills and proficient in establishing and maintaining effective communication and processes
  • Ability to manage various vendors and ensure quality and SLA standards are met
  • Ability to work independently on projects and daily activities
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team and independently when required
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Four-year degree in computer science/information security or related combined work/education experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security/Information Security
  • Knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI model) and NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF)
  • Experience in the implementation of CIS Critical Security Controls in a practical and detailed manner
  • Experience in the implementation of OWASP in a practical and detailed manner
  • Experience in cloud security architectures
  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP, routing and switching technologies
  • Knowledge in infrastructure as code
  • Knowledge of IoT security practices
  • Experience in application security, user access permissions and controls
  • Experience in data security and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA)
  • Capable of handling and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
  • Hands-on experience in supporting and maintaining cyber security tools and technologies, including IDS/IPS, UTM, WAF, NAC, DLP, SIEM, and other management and threat detection technologies
