Content Marketing Writer

The Position

The Content Marketing Writer will work on the content team in collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders to write compelling marketing content to drive customer and prospect engagement and conversion. 

You will execute content marketing strategy by drafting prospect and customer emails as well as long- and short-form pieces for CallRail’s blog, landing pages, webinars, and possibly resources like e-books and white papers. 

To succeed in this role you must have experience writing copy that converts, be a good editor, understand best practices for email and blog content, and be prepared to learn your target audiences inside out. You should also be a self starter, capable of striking the right balance between content quality and quantity.

Note: We will require writing samples from candidates we choose to interview.

What You'll Do 

  • Contribute to content marketing strategy
  • Follow copy and SEO briefs and best practices
  • Own, follow, improve, and socialize our guide
  • Conduct research/interviews to inform content 
  • Work closely with content and marketing teams to ensure on-time delivery
  • Serve as our editor, making content better, keeping it concise and consistent in quality
  • Write compelling content that is relevant, cohesive, and consistent with our brand voice
  • Collaborate closely with SEO team to ensure content is fully optimized and supports SEO strategies

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience writing B2B marketing content 
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with a high level of initiative
  • Experience interviewing subject matter experts to inform content
  • Strong attention to detail, a flexible attitude, and a team player
  • Experience using project management platforms, like Asana or Trello
  • Direct copywriting experience for marketing, SaaS, or B2B businesses 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Journalism, English, Marketing, or Communications preferred)
  • Strong proofreading, grammar, and copywriting skills with the ability to provide writing samples
  • Experience with digital marketing topics, including SEO, PPC, marketing analytics, and industry trends 
  • Skilled at writing content that is topically relevant, comprehensive, expert-level, authoritative, useful
  • Experience using tools like Google Analytics to test and analyze the success of content and optimize based on results
