The CallRail Brand Activation team is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to join our growing Content team. We are looking for someone invested in building a best-in-class content marketing program, contributing to an inclusive team culture, and creating a collaborative environment where we can create thoughtful, dynamic content that resonates with our target audiences. What we’re looking for

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Copy and Content and working together with the rest of the CallRail Marketing teams, the Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing the production of a wide variety of content — including blog posts, ebooks, guides, reports, infographics, and videos –– with both internal and external writers and designers (such as agencies and freelancers). 

The Content Marketing Manager will help develop, support, and execute content strategies that drive brand awareness and engagement with CallRail at all stages of the buyer and customer journey. 

The Content Marketing Manager will constantly seek to align content marketing strategy with a growing understanding of who CallRail customers are, what pain points they bring into buying decisions, and what stages exist in their particular journey toward conversion –– then proposing and managing creation and development of content to this end. 

This is a full-time, salaried position open to 100% remote candidates based in the U.S. The Content team is a combination of fully remote and Georgia-based team members. Currently, the majority of CallRail employees work remotely, but for those who feel comfortable and would like to return to the office (if located in Atlanta) the CallRail office is open for vaccinated employees.

What you’ll contribute

  • Efficiently guide content creation to support marketing objectives and strategies –– managing content production with internal and external contributors to ensure timely publication. We use Asana for project and editorial calendar management. 
  • Continuously learn the CallRail product and provide editorial direction and feedback from a foundational understanding of how it works and what problems it solves. Seek time with internal subject matter experts to best inform this perspective, and stay current with product updates and GTM changes.
  • Work collaboratively with CallRail Content, Brand, and Marketing team members to create and execute on our quarterly and annual content strategy, spanning core targets, markets, and personas at every stage of the buyer’s journey.
  • Engage in conversations with prospect and customer-facing teams and other members of the marketing department to determine content needed and the ideal mediums for delivering it. You can strategize on how to maximize the investment in a certain content topic and gated/ungated asset (spinoff content opportunities, etc.) 
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Manager of Copy and Content, identify, interview, hire, and manage third-party contributors as required — agencies, freelancers, and others.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with customers and industry professionals.
  • Help monitor pre-determined quarterly and annual success metrics for content strategy.
  • Stay up to date with SMB, agency, and content marketing industry trends and best practices. We have an annual education stipend to support your professional development and growth!

  • Excellent project management, editing, and written and verbal communications skills. You are open-minded, and consider other perspectives in your interactions with teammates, colleagues, and external partners. We know everyone communicates differently, and we value clear communication, asking questions, and listening with intention. 
    • Excellent time management skills. You know how to work smart, and know when it’s time to take a break; one of our core values is to turn it off, and we model that.
    • Experience managing and editing a large volume of content and managing content deliverables from start to finish with iterable but repeatable processes: from brief writing, writer assignment, and draft reviews and feedback, to publication and distribution.
  • Strong editorial governance and grasp on modern, web-driven English (we use AP Style).
  • Foundational SEO knowledge to inform content planning, creative briefs and content structure (we have an in-house SEO team).
  • Ability to brainstorm, research, vet, and propose potential content topics with a compelling case.
  • Attention to detail, highly organized, and self-motivated with a high level of initiative.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-moving environment as the team (and product!) changes and grows.
  • Ability to regularly socialize new content and performance findings with the wider company to ensure content marketing efforts and impacts are visible and celebrated. 

Education and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related or equivalent experience. 
  • 4+ years of experience in content marketing or related work.
  • SaaS experience preferred.
  • Strong writing experience helpful; editorial experience required.

  • Constant contribution to –– and execution of –– content strategy.
  • Ability to hit deadlines proficiently and communicate progress updates when necessary.
  • Collaboration and communication with cross-functional stakeholders, including Demand Generation, Customer Marketing, and Product Marketing.
  • Growth mindset. Continuously looking for creative ways to improve how we operate, our workflows, and the content we produce, and are open to giving and receptive to receiving feedback.

The process:

  • A recruiter will reach out if your skills, writing samples, and application materials match what we’re looking for in a Content Marketing Manager candidate. We’ll go over logistics about the role, a brief overview of company culture, and salary range expectations. 
  • If we move forward, you will interview (likely three hours total) with the Content team and cross functional team members you would collaborate with on day-to-day work.
  • In your interview with the Senior Content Marketing Manager, you’ll be prepared to talk through the process of creating a piece of your writing (or a piece of content you have managed): the concept, the funnel stage, the outcomes (expected and actual), and the impact on the business.
